MULTICULTURAL FAIR - On Friday, May 2nd, our students dressed in costumes from all over the world. They studied various cultures and set up displays of artifacts from that culture. Students danced, sang, and paraded through the cafeteria in their cultural attire. They really understood what a melting pot our country has become. A BIG THANK YOU to Mrs. Cuevas and her committee for coordinating this spectacular event, our teachers and students for their beautiful artifacts, our volunteers who assisted with set up and clean up, and our parents for sharing artifacts with our students from their native country.
SUMMER READING 2014 - Just Read, Families! is a summer reading program which provides parents with information about actively reading with their children during the summer months. Research shows that children who do not continue reading through the summer can lose a month or more of progress made during the school year. By encouraging their children to read, parents are playing a critical role in achieving our goal of having every child reading at or above grade level. Now is the time to take advantage of the many activities and resources available on this website. Keep your children engaged in reading! Children are a precious gift, and the opportunity to inspire a love of reading is both a great honor and an extraordinary responsibility. With your help, we can make Florida's reading goals a reality. Click here for the Elementary Summer Reading Loss Brochure and Summer Recommended Reading List from the Florida Department of Education.
