CPE IS GOING ONLINE IN 2014-2015 - Beginning the 2014-2015 school year, CPE will be going online only when collecting monies for grade level activities and field trips. Please prepare an online account this year by going to estore.browardschools.com. Detailed directions are available here.
CPE PTA MEMBERSHIP - On May 13th, PTA will be voting for the new PTA Executive Board for the 2014-2015 school year. You must be a member of PTA in order to vote in the elections. If you would like to vote in the elections and you haven't joined PTA this school year, you may do so by submitting your payment of $7.00 CASH ONLY on or before April 14th. Please send your payment to the front office in an envelope marked PTA Membership. You will not be able to vote if payment is received after April 14th. You will be issued a temporary card for the remainder of this school year and then a permanent card will be issued for the 2014-2015 school year. The PTA Membership Committee thanks you in advance for your support.
BROWARD SHOE DRIVE - We are joining forces with our Broward County School Social Workers in having a shoe drive to collect very gently used and new shoes for students from April 1st-11th. They are only collecting sneakers and cleats. The shoes can be dropped off in the Main Office. Thank you.
AUTHOR VISIT - We are excited to announce author Ridley Pearson will be speaking with our fifth graders in April. All students may pre purchase a signed copy of one of his books. Please complete this form and return it to the shcool by Friday, April 4th. Only cash is accepted.

REPLACEMENT FOR FCAT - The Florida Department of Education has made a deicsion on the replacement assessment for FCAT in 2014-2015. Attached is the communication to parents from the FLDOE.
CLASS SIZE AND STUDENT PLACEMENT - Due to the State Class Size Reduction law, students may need to be moved between teachers after the start of school to ensure compliance with the required student limits. These limits are 18 students for Pre-Kindergarten to grade 3; 22 students for grades 4 to 8; and 25 students for grades 9 to 12 in core classes. Please know that students’ needs, will continue to be met through proper instruction and services. Additional information on core classes or anything related to Class Size Reduction is available on the Class Size Reduction website at http://www.broward.k12.fl.us/classsize/.
CODE OF STUDENT CONDUCT - “Parents and students, in August, the 2013-2014 Code of Student Conduct Handbook will be posted on Broward Schools’ Web site at http://www.browardschools.com/index.asp under the Additional Information tab for the Code Goes Green. Parents and students may also access the Handbook through the BEEP Portal for Parents or Students as well as a variety of new electronic sources including a Quick Response Code for smartphones.”

2012-2013 SPAR (School Public Accountability Report) - The No Child Left Behind federal legislation and Florida statute require that schools provide parents an annual school status report at the beginning of each school year. The Florida Department of Education has produced a No Child Left Behind/School Public Accountability Report for each school containing all the required No Child Left Behind indicators, including the indicators for Annual Measurable Objectives (AMOs). The Florida Department of Education has recently posted the NCLB/SPARs online.
